COMMENTS ON A REPORT OF THE SEPARATION OF THE ENANTIOMERS OF PI-DONORANALYTES ON PI-DONOR CHIRAL STATIONARY PHASES

A report by Oliveros et al. [J. Chromatogr., 589 (1992) 531 concerning the separation of the enantiomers of several pi-basic analytes on pi- basic chiral stationary phases was investigated. Claims for the separa tion of the enantiomers of two of these analytes are believed to be er roneous, the confusion in one instance presumably arising from the pre sence of an impurity in the commercially available material. Several m ethods for verifying the assignment of two chromatographic peaks as ar ising from enantiomers are also presented.
