R. Ganguly et Sk. Mukherjee, SCREENING OF ORGANISMS AND INFLUENCE OF CULTURAL CONDITIONS ON THE FERMENTATIVE PRODUCTION OF CELLULASE BY AN ISOLATED STRAIN PENICILLIUM-PURPUROGENUM, Research and Industry, 38(2), 1993, pp. 102-104
A cellulolytic mold Penicillium purpurogenum isolated from soil and id
entified in our laboratory was selected as the most potent organism. T
he optimum cultural conditions for the production of the cellulolytic
enzymes by the organism were pH 5.5, period of incubation 11-days, tem
perature 28-degrees-C and volume of inoculum, a 1 ml spore suspension
containing 2 x 10(6) spores per 30 ml, when fermentations were carried
out in 100 ml Erlenmeyer flasks on a rotary shaker (150 rpm).
