Abstract
Several genetic models were examined for suitability by estimating the effects of heterosis on milk production traits. This was done by usin g the crossbreeed of the dairy breeds German Black and White, Holstein Friesian and Danish Jerseys, which formed the basis for breeding the Black Pied Dairy Cattle (SMR). Model 1 (KINGHORN, 1987) pproved to be very suitable. No significant negative effects were encountered for th e heterosis. The additive x additive - interaction obviously played an important role within the epistasis. The effect of the housing system on the heterosis could not be quantified.
