Jt. Pardeck et Jw. Murphy, POSTMODERNISM AND CLINICAL-PRACTICE - A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE DISEASE-MODEL, Psychological reports, 72(3), 1993, pp. 1187-1194
The disease model attempts to explain a variety of phenomena ranging f
rom mental illness to criminal behavior. This approach is grounded in
the Western philosophical tradition of dualism. The limitations of the
disease model are analyzed through a postmodern perspective. Socially
sensitive strategies for clinical intervention are offered.
