Abstract
For 69 community college students, scores on the Hypochondriasis Scale correlated .44 with those on the UCLA Loneliness Scale, and .53 with problems in social functioning. These data are consistent with DSM-III -R listings of poor coping and social skills for hypochondriacal perso nality.
