Abstract
The use of a new semisolid medium in Petri dishes, the MSRV Medium, re placing Leifson selenite broth to selectively enrich Salmonella test, gave the possibility to detect most of contaminated samples, to shorte n answer time for negative samples at 48 hrs and to eliminate, further more, the problems of ''special waste material', due to selenium conte nt of the Leifson selenite broth.
