Abstract
Poly(p-phenylene) with degree of polymerization higher than 35 was obt ained by oxidative polymerization of benzene in an aluminum chloride a nd N-butylpyridinium chloride based ionic liquid. Effects of the proce ss parameters on the relative molecular mass were studied. Some specif ications of reaction mechanism were made.
