Abstract
A new class of conducting polymers, 3,3'-dialkyl-2,2'-dithiophene-5,5' -diylvinylene)s, have been prepared from dialkyl substituted E-(2,2'-d ithienylethylene). Soluble materials bearing long alkyl chains have be en obtained by either chemical or electrochemical synthesis. These con jugated polymers were characterized by NMR, FTIR and UV-visible-NIR sp ectroscopy.
