Four omega-(3-pyrrolyl)esters were investigated by cyclic voltammetry,
electron microscopy and conductivity measurements. The corresponding
poly(pyrrole) derivatives exhibit enhanced conductivities compared to
poly(3-acylpyrrole)s, and their electrochemical behavior resembles tha
t of poly(3-alkylpyrrole)s rather than the poly(3-acylpyrrole) derivat
ives. Ester saponification occurring during electropolymerization was
examined by gas chromatography.
