Several vinylcarbazole derivatives were electrochemically polymerized
into electrochromic films with electrical conductivities in the range
of 10(-4) to 10(-7) S/cm. The characteristic white/green color change
upon doping was due to bicarbazolyl groups. The cyclic voltammograms o
f the monomers revealed small differences due to the various positions
of the vinyl group on the ring.
