Abstract
A general asymmetric approach toward cis-epoxypolyynes is described us ing optically pure (2R,3S)-5-bromo-2,3-epoxy-4-pentyn-1-ol 1a as the k ey intermediate. From this intermediate, the synthesis of 2 epoxy poly yne natural products was carried out in 6 steps with a 42% overall yie ld.
