The momentum transfer cross section for electrons in krypton has been
derived over the energy range 0-4 eV from an analysis of drift velocit
y and D(T)/mu data for hydrogen-krypton mixtures. At energies in the v
icinity of the Ramsauer-Townsend minimum, the present work differs sig
nificantly from derivations based on analyses of drift velocity data a
lone. The overall uncertainty in the derived cross section reflects th
e experimental errors in the transport coefficients, the uncertainty i
n the cross sections used to represent the hydrogen component in the m
ixtures, and the uncertainty associated with the chi2 minimisation. Th
e present cross section is compared with recent theoretical calculatio
ns and other experimental derivations.
