Viscoelastic behavior and relaxation spectra of polycarbonate/polybuty
leneterephtalate blends were studied with a torsional pendulum in the
temperature range from -180-degrees-C to +250-degrees-C. Polycarbonate
and polybutyleneterephtalate blends are incompatible in this temperat
ure range. An abnormal dependence of dynamic shear modulus on the cont
ent of the components was found at temperatures close to the glass tra
nsition temperatures of PC and PBT. This effect was explained by an in
teraction between the components. A problem of the interaction between
the components is discussed and a method for the quantitative descrip
tion of this interaction is suggested.
