Abstract
In this note we present computational observer design techniques for l inear systems subject to unknown inputs. Complete and intuitive geomet ric conditions for the solution of the problem are provided, which res ult in design matrix equations. These design equations are solved comp utationally efficient. The synthesis of the reduced-order observer tak es full advantage of the concept of transmission zeros. In particular, the presented necessary and sufficient conditions are provided in ter ms of the transmission zeros of the triple (A, D, C).
