Abstract
An outbreak of nervous disorders in cattle on a fattening unit is desc ribed. The most prominent symptoms were blindness and convulsions occu rring in about 30 % of the young steers and heifers. Hypovitaminosis A was diagnosed and treatment resulted in a resolution of the convulsio ns but not of the blindness.
