The possibility of using sinter too small for the blast furnace burden
to intensify the rimming of St3kp steel has been investigated experim
entally. It is concluded that the use of 0-5-5.0 mm sinter with a basi
city of 0.5-1.6 during pouring of rimming steel enables the technology
to be simplified, intensifier preparation costs to be reduced, and th
e range of raw materials that can be used as intensifiers to be broade
ned.
