Abstract
The progress of surgical treatment of spine fractures leads to new pro blems in the assessment of this patients. Possible consequences of thi s treatment are discussed (exspecially approach-caused faults in muscl e or pulmonary funktion). Beside the length and localisation of the fu sion the strain on the adjacent movement segments have to be considere d. The different function of the different regions of the spine is als o represented. The possible ''MdE'' is discussed under consideration o f the above criteria.
