BOTH TILT AND MISALIGNMENT ARE MANIFESTATIONS OF ANGULAR INDUCTION

With a Poggendorff configuration one sees two obliques as being misali gned, and with a judd configuration one sees them as having different tilts, i.e., as being misoriented. It has been suggested that these ar e separate illusory effects. I submit, however, that one can see misor ientation in the double Poggendorff and misalignment with a Judd-like configuration. It seems likely that both perceptual effects are manife stations of the same process.
