Abstract
This work addresses the problem of determining heat integration feasib ility in batch systems. Different arrangements of beat integration in these systems are discussed. Mathematical models are developed by usin g unified mathematical descriptions. Temperature time-variation relati onships, which contain the main design and performance parameters expl icitly, are obtained. A method for optimal parametric synthesis of the systems considered, is proposed. The problem is formulated in terms o f nonlinear programming with constraints in the form of equalities and inequalities. An example is given to illustrate the application of th e method proposed.
