Abstract
We show how a recently developed semiclassical wave packet approach to A + BC reactive scattering in hyperspherical coordinates can be used to obtain cross sections within the co-planar approximation. The valid ity is tested by comparison with published cross sections for the D H-2 reaction obtained from ''exact'' quantum mechanical calculations. The possibility to cover a range of energies with a single wave packet is also investigated by detailed comparison of reaction probabilities for J = 0.
