Abstract
Enhanced backscattering in crossed polarization was observed from silv er coated emery papers of various roughnesses on a scale greater than the wavelength of light. The effect can be explained by double scatter ing of three-dimensional electromagnetic modes. The localization lengt h is roughly two times the grain size.
