In the basis of the intensification process on AgHal materials by the
silver dispergation method through its oxidating-reducing treatment, t
here is a diffusional silver transfer in emulsion coating in the form
of complex ions. It leads to an essential variation of image microstru
cture, and consequently, to a change of image quality characteristics
(resolving power, modulation-transfer function, mean-square granularit
y, and signal-to-noise relation). It is shown that these characteristi
cs can be regulated by the intensification conditions, and that there
is the possibility to adjust the higher informativity of intensified i
mage than after the standard chemical-photographic treatment.
