Diffractogram or Fourier image is obtained from a picture on a liquid
crystal TV display by light optical diffraction. As an application of
this method, images of an amorphous film which are captured with an el
ectron microscopy TV camera are transformed and their diffractograms a
re displayed on a monitor TV. This is powerful for the correction of t
he tilt of the beam axis and the stigmation of the objective lens in a
routine operation of a high-resolution transmission electron microsco
pe. This method is applicable to continuous and simultaneous observati
on of diffractogram of a moving object.
