Abstract
We present a derivation of the Bohr-Sommerfeld formula used by Guinn e t al to successfully calculate the complex eigenfrequencies for the lo w-lying quasi-normal modes of a Schwarzschild black hole. It is shown that this formula is valid even when the transition points under consi deration come close together.
