T. Okano et al., ESTER INTERCHANGE REACTION CATALYZED BY LANTHANOID TRI-2-PROPOXIDES, Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 66(6), 1993, pp. 1863-1865
Lanthanoid tri-2-propoxides ([Ln(OPr(i))3]n Ln=La, Nd, Gd, Yb) are act
ive catalysts for the interchange reaction of the alkoxyl groups betwe
en two kinds of esters. The La catalyst is the most active among them,
and the activity is higher in nonpolar solvents than in polar ones. T
he La catalyst is applicable to the ring-opening polymerization of 6-h
exanolide.
