Abstract
The kinetics of oxidation of glutathione by two poly(pyridyl) iron (II I) complexes have been studied in aqueous hydrochloric acid. The react ions are first order each in [oxidants], [reductant] and [H+] in the r ange 0.25-2.00 mol dm-3. Free radicals take part in the reactions, and a suitable mechanism has been proposed.
