Abstract
On the basis of an analysis of the known experimental data a diagram o f the detonation characteristics of an explosive charge detonated on a plate is constructed. The propulsion velocities have been measured as a function of the thickness of the charge. The effect on the detonati on velocity of the dispersity of the explosive and the material and th ickness of the plate has been experimentally investigated. It is estab lished that in the nonideal detonation regime the propulsion velocity is greater than that calculated from a known formula, and that the det onation velocity is greater for a Dural than for a copper plate.
