The transmission of electrons through a random array of a number of id
entical multibarriers has been studied. Although most of the electrons
are reflected by such a random structure, there still exist electrons
with special energies which are completely unscattered. This produces
a high-quality resonant tunneling with a peak transmission coefficien
t much narrower than that of the tunneling through a single double bar
rier. The current-voltage characteristics of this structure are calcul
ated and the special negative differential conductivity is exhibited.
