EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF ELEMENTARY REACTIONS OF FO RADICALS .4. REACTIONS WITH HYDROGEN-ATOMS

Using a combined EPR/IR LMR spectrometer on a jet discharge apparatus at P = 4-6 mm and T = 300 K, we studied the reactions FO + H --> F + O H, (a) --> O + HF. (b) For the overall rate constant of the reaction, we obtained k = k(a) + k(b) = (2.4 +/- 0.2).10(-11) cm3.sec-1. We have shown that the ratio of the reaction channels is determined by the ex pression k(b)/(k(a) + k(b)) = 0.34 +/- 0.02.
