The kinetics was studied of the hydroxyethylation reaction of n-butyl
alcohol in dodecane at the ethylene oxide concentration of 0.72 mole/l
iter in the initial mixture. It was shown that the experimental result
s are adequately described by a kinetic equation obtained taking into
account the phenomenon of the autoassociation of the alcohol molecules
. A dependence was obtained of the composition of the associate or the
cluster molecules of n-butyl alcohol on the concentration of the solv
ent.
