Abstract
A study has been made of benzene oxidation on Pt/Al2O3. It has been de monstrated that there is considerable superheating (up to 300-degrees- C) of the catalyst surface relative to the gas phase and that this sup erheating depends on the thermal conductivities of the gases used. A t hermal model that takes account of internal diffusion has been put for ward to explain hysteresis in the reaction rate.
