Aa. Dulov et al., CORRELATION BETWEEN THE ACTIVITY AND SURFACE-COMPOSITION OF NIO-CUO-CEMENT CATALYSTS IN HYDROGENATION OF OXYGEN, Kinetics and catalysis, 33(5-6), 1992, pp. 948-953
The activity of two independently synthesized batches of NiO-CuO catal
ysts supported on alumocalcium cement (Talum) was compared in hydrogen
ation of oxygen and it was shown that the method of synthesis of these
catalysts ensures the reproducibility of their catalytic activity. Tw
o activity levels are observed as a function of the composition of the
catalyst: high, for CuO and solid solutions based on CuO, and low, fo
r NiO and solid solutions based on NiO. It was found that deviating fr
om the optimum conditions in processing the catalyst during activity t
ests can perturb the optimum surface state and significantly reduce th
e activity for samples rich in nickel.
