Abstract
A deterministic two-stage model of an open catalytic system with surfa ce phase transition is studied. The model is analyzed by the transfer- matrix method. It is shown that phase-transition-induced critical phen omena in heterogeneous catalytic systems are partial and limiting case s of critical phenomena arising from lateral interactions.
