Lattice location and migration of Pb atoms implanted in Fe single crys
tals were studied by means of the RBS/channeling technique. The result
s indicated that the formation of Pb-vacancy complexes governs the lat
tice site occupation of impurity atoms. The mobility of these complexe
s plays also a crucial role in the thermally activated migration of Pb
atoms. The Pb transport mechanism was identified as radiation induced
migration of Pb-vacancy complexes.
