Pd. Pearce et al., ASSIGNMENT OF THE BETA-SUBUNIT OF THE MUSCLE NICOTINIC ACETYLCHOLINE-RECEPTOR GENE (CHRNB1) TO SHEEP CHROMOSOME-11, Cytogenetics and cell genetics, 64(1), 1993, pp. 59-61
The chromosomal assignment of the gene for the beta subunit of the she
ep muscle nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (CHRNB1) was determined by
isotopic in situ hybridization. CHRNB1 was mapped to sheep chromosome
11, with a hybridization peak at 11 q 1 4 --> q22. This result is furt
her evidence that the chromosomal segment that comprises human chromos
ome 17 has been highly conserved during evolution.
