The electron motion in a FEL with a helical undulator and a longitudin
al magnetic field is studied. It is shown that in the small pump appro
ximation the electron motion in the transverse plane can be considered
as a superposition of two counter circle gyrations. Therefore, the cy
clotron resonances exist for both directions of a guide field. The ''a
nticyclotron'' resonance (i.e. cyclotron resonance in the reversed gui
de field) is caused by the transverse inhomogeneity of the undulator f
ield and it appears only for off-axis electrons.
