Pr. Hodgkins et al., INTERNAL OPHTHALMOPLEGIA - A COMPLICATION OF OCULAR VARICELLA, Australian and New Zealand journal of ophthalmology, 21(1), 1993, pp. 53-54
We report a case of unilateral internal ophthalmoplegia associated wit
h varicella zoster in a five-year-old boy. Pupillary dilatation and ac
commodative paralysis persist after three years. A brisk reaction to t
opical pilocarpine suggests a denervation. Bifocal spectacle correctio
n has restored the visual acuity.
