Yf. Gorskaya et Yy. Shuklina, ON THE CELLS INHIBITING THE FORMATION OF STROMAL COC-F COLONIES IN BONE-MARROW CULTURES, Gematologia i transfuziologia, 37(7-8), 1992, pp. 10-12
The presence of embryonal calf serum (ECS) in the cultural medium in n
ecessary for the inhibition of CFU(f) colony growth in rabbit bone mar
row cultures by hemopoietic and lymphoid cells. The inhibitory effect
is sharply decreased when, besides ECS, the cultural medium contains s
era autologous for the reacting cells (rabbit serum), and sera of matu
re animals of some other species (mouse, rat). The inhibitory activity
depends on soluble factors penetrating milliporous filters. It has be
en revealed that the cells inhibiting CFU(f) growth have the marker F4
80. T-cells, probably, are not involved in the effect studied.
