IMMUNOLOGICAL REACTIVITY IN PATIENTS WITH IRON-DEFICIENCY ANEMIA - STATUS AND CAUSES OF CHANGES

The role of the immunity system in the pathogenesis of iron deficiency anemia and its complications was studied in 200 patients and in the e xperiment on 55 non-inbred white rats. The state of nonspecific resist ance, humoral and cellular components of immunity was investigated. It has been shown that iron deficiency leads to imbalance in the immunit y system. The degree of the affection and disorders in the integration between separate parameters of the immunity system determine the poss ibility of complications and influence the course of concomitant disea ses. Ferrotherapy produces a positive effect on the immune status of p atients with iron deficiency anemia.
