A two dimensional approach to the evaluation of a missing tissue compe
nsator system has been developed and implemented. Quantitative descrip
tors of the dose area histograms generated by scanning films irradiate
d under a variety of compensated and uncompensated conditions are prop
osed. The method has been found to be useful during the acceptance tes
ting of a commercial compensator system and the results of this exerci
se are presented.
