Abstract
An account of the installation, commissioning and testing of the first North American kraft recovery boiler capable of continuously firing i n excess of 80% liquor solids is provided. A discussion on the benefit s and drawbacks of high solids firing will follow along with suggestio ns on how and why high solids firing should be applied.
