Using the ARGUS detector at the DORIS-II electron-positron storage rin
g at DESY, we have investigated the exclusive decay D+ --> D0pi+, D0
--> K(S)0pi+pi-. From a partial wave analysis of the K(S)0pi+pi- syste
m we find that (71.8+/-4.2+/-3.0)% are D0 --> K-pi+ and (22.7+/-3.2+/
-0.9)% are D0 --> K0rho0BAR with a relative phase of (-137+/-7+.-3)-de
grees between the channels. The remaining fraction can be described by
several channels involving excited resonances, but not by a three-bod
y phase space decay, thus giving first evidence for DO decays into K0
(1430)-pi+, K0f0(975)BAR, K0f2(1270)BAR, and K0f0(1400)BAR.
