Abstract
A comprehensive and systematic approach to physical examination of the shoulder is described, with particular emphasis on findings pertinent to an athletic population. The format consists of initial impression, inspection, palpation, range of motion and strength testing, stabilit y assessment, special tests, vascular examination, and general physica l examination.
