Abstract
A mesoscopic S/N/S structure is studied theoretically. It is shown tha t a Josephson effect can occur in the structure even if the distance b etween the superconductors is much larger than the correlation length xi(N)(T) and the Josephson coupling is negligibly weak. This effect ar ises if an additional current I flows along the normal conductor. (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
