Ha. Hammad et al., SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES ON SOME DICARBOXYLIC-ACID DIHYDRAZIDE-IRON COMPLEXES, Canadian journal of applied spectroscopy, 41(4), 1996, pp. 86-90
Some 2:1 (Ligand/Metal L/M) iron complexes of malonic acid dihydrazide
(MDH) and phthalic acid dihydrazide (PDH), have been prepared, viz.,
[ML(2) . 2H(2)O]X, where X = SO42-, M = Fe(II) and [ML(2) . 2H(2)O](2)
X(3), where M = Fe(III). The complexes were investigated by magnetic s
usceptibility measurements and IR, electronic and Mossbauer spectrosco
py. The results obtained indicate that the iron atom is coordinated oc
tahedrally. Moreover, Fe(III) is reduced to Fe(II) in the MDH complex
and Fe(II) is oxidized to Fe(III) in the PDH complex.
