Abstract
The conformation and configuration of compounds 1-4, generated by 1,3- dipolar addition of nitrile oxides to the exomethylene group of (5Z)- and (5E)-vitamin D3 has been assigned. A combination of force-field ca lculations, LIS measurements, LIS simulations and CD spectroscopy has been used. In addition, the assignment has been verified by chemical c orrelation of 1 and 3 to 5 as well as of 2 and 4 to 6.
