Abstract
We studied expression of isoforms of Na,K-ATPase in normal and disease d human hearts. Na,K-ATPase alpha-isoform mRNA in samples from normal human left ventricle (LV) was composed of 62.5% alpha1, 15% alpha2 and 22.5% alpha3 on average. There was an increase in expression of the a lpha3 isoform in samples from failing hearts, but expression of all th ree isoforms decreased in pressure-overloaded right ventricle (RV).
