Abstract
Material carbon balance and thermal balance of a sintering operation a llow to calculate the position of the reaction zone and the maximum te mperature as a function of time. This model, involving particularly ga s analysis. has been tested on an industrial sinter strand. Sinter str ength evolution may be predicted by the on-line calculation of a melt fraction in the high temperature zone.
