Ai. Chichinin, MEASUREMENT OF CL(P-2(1 2)) QUANTUM YIELD FOR THE PHOTODISSOCIATION OF NOCL, ICL, PCL3, CL2O AND COCL2/, Chemical physics letters, 209(5-6), 1993, pp. 459-463
Laser photolysis of chlorine-containing molecules at lambda = 248 and
351 nm has been performed using time-resolved laser magnetic resonance
to detect Cl(P-2(1/2)) and Cl(P-2(3/2)) chlorine atoms. Relative yiel
ds of spin-orbit excited chlorine atoms, beta = [Cl(P-2(1.2))]/{[Cl(P-
2(3/2))]+[Cl(P-2(1/2))]}, have been measured for the photodissociation
of NOCl (lambda = 351 nm), NOCl (248 nm), ICl (248 nm), PCl3 (248 nm)
, Cl2O (248 nm), COCl2 (248 nm) yielding the following values respecti
vely: 90 +/- 10, 88 +/- 12, 67 +/- 5, 44 +/- 3, 18 +/- 3, <5%.
