Abstract
Propene metathesis results show conclusively that a significant fracti on of the Re is in a positive oxidation state in EUROCAT-4 (0.3% Re/0. 3% Pt/alumina) pre-treated in H-2 to 673 K, and, since some of the pro duct (and reactant) alkenes are self-hydrogenated the zero-valent Pt c omponent is not entirely encapsulated in this Re(x)O(y).
